good to be appreciated 2003-01-26 - 11:16 a.m. Cookie's love for his Christmas toy is still going strong. Again this morning I woke up to the pleasant tinkle of the copper bell. It wasn't as cold this morning, which is a good thing, since it started drizzling. The Brown Thrasher was hanging around the suet feeder, waiting for the refill. The pair of Cardinals and the Carolina Wren were right behind him. Maybe I've got two Brown Thrashers out there. Either that, or this one has been feeding pretty much continuously for two hours. BF has put new perches in the peachfront flights. I'm reluctant to put them out there again until I'm sure that we won't have another hard freeze, though, so they are still grumbling and mumbling in the dining room at the moment. I'm a bit tired. What happened to L. makes it hard to sleep. It wasn't like he was overweight or drank or anything. It just seems so out of nowhere and totally unfair. At least he had a chance to take his brother on a cruise and give him a good time, and he got a chance to see some sights for himself as well.
