a parrot aviary destroyed

I've broken up some of these disaster photographs from
Tropical Storm Bill into
separate diary entries, so that individual pages don't take
so long to load. The parrot porch was completely destroyed.
As I wrote earlier, it was a miracle that the birds and turtles came
through unharmed. Cookie and Sheldon, who had
vulnerable cages, had been moved inside. The other flight
cages, amazingly enough, did not crumble under the impact
because the full force of the treefall was actually overhead
where the oak tree blasted through the cathedral ceiling of the living room.
At this time, the conures are in small temporary cages, and they
are not necessarily thrilled about the limited quarters, but
they seem to be in great shape.

Cookie's table was completely smashed. I shudder to think what
would have happened if he had been out there when the tree collapsed.
