i come between a bird and his bell

Cookie fell desperately in lust with his bell this year, feeding it, ringing it, rubbing up against it, and feeding it again. He was tearing up paper feverishly to make a cozy nest for it. And he was getting rather noisy, yelling so that he could be covered up to get...you guessed it...a little private time with his bell.
Well, I admit it. I finally heard enough about the bell. After I came back from Knoxville, I removed it. I guess he just needed a trigger to tell him that, guess what, breeding season is over, IT'S OVER, because now he's being all sweet as pie and butter wouldn't melt. He wants nothing more than to eat his peanut butter with a spoon and to rub his cute little head all over my hand. Who knew that bell was such a trouble-maker?
