french toast 2003-01-18 - 1:40 p.m. I fell asleep last night by the crackling fire. Woke up this morning and made French Toast. If we must have winter, I'm going to enjoy it! BF just made a new set of baffles for the suet feeder. We shall see what we shall see. Carolina Chickadee and Brown Thrasher have already discovered it. A Yellow-Rumped (Myrtle) Warbler in fine feather sat on another branch and examined it but didn't attempt to feed. Was it actually 21 degrees last night? Don't know but it was cold. A lot of hummingbird plants have turned black. They will be put to the test to prove that they can return in the spring. I forgot to the take the hummingbird feeders down, and they froze, so I defrosted them and replaced them with a 1:4 sugar/water ratio, instead of the 1:5 stuff, to help keep them from freezing again tonight. later A Carolina Wren knocked at my window but took off when I said, "Hello." back - next All Rights Reserved, Copyright 2002-2017 by Elaine Radford
