it was a hermit thrush, silly

OK, I shared my notes about my Wood Thrush sighting and found out that it was a Hermit Thrush. Oops. But it did have that noticeable reddish-brown tail in contrast to the back so it was definitely a Hermit. Besides, the expert I wrote to pointed out that Hermit Thrushes are the thrushes to be expected in winter. Well, you learn something new every day.

The squirrels have defeated the baffle. Sigh. In the battle of man versus squirrel, must squirrel take every round? The Brown Thrasher is back, though. I always get a kick of their glittering lemon yellow eyes.
