Read my new book, The 10 Best Things You Can Do For Your Bird at Amazon or at many other fine distributors like Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Kobo, and more.

By public demand, and after a delay of an embarrassing number of years, I've finally put my notorious essay, Ender and Hitler: Sympathy for the Superman, free on the fabulous internets.

A bibliography of my published books and stories.

Here's a simple card-counting FAQ to get you up to speed on the basics. Here's the true story of the notorious DD' blackjack team, told for the first time on the fabulous internets. No other team went from a starting investor's bankroll of zero to winning millions of dollars.

A Sadean take on Asimov's classic Three Laws of Robotics can be found in Roger Williams' NOW REVIEWED ON SLASHDOT!!! The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect. a hike around town

We hiked Mont Royale and got a great overlook of the city of Montreal, although as all the literature and signs remind us, the name "mont" is just a courtesy. It isn't a mountain, it's just a hill. And the "lac" is not a "lake," it's a pond. But it was a glorious blue day, and we even spotted a few nice birds, with the prize of the day being the singing Chestnut-Sided Warbler.

view from mont royale

Lunch in the open-air cafe, a stroll through old Montreal. The cathedral that's a copy of the Roman Basilica, the cathedral that's a copy of Notre Dame, the 23 story Art Deco skyscraper modeled on the Empire State Building, the Art Deco Metro stop that's a copy of the Metropolitain (and Cite) stop in Paris. On the other hand, there's nothing else in the world quite like the skyscraper that was supposed to look like it was wearing a Bishop's miter and, oops, instead came out looking like Batman. Oh, and I don't even know quite how to describe the Habitat 67 condo/apartment buildings.

the notre dame is not really in the style of the notre dame of paris, but behind it you can see the 1931 edifice alfred in the style of the empire state bldg

the montreal world trade center has a piece of the berlin wall preserved there, why ask why
