By public demand, and after a delay of an embarrassing number of years, I've finally put my notorious essay, Ender and Hitler: Sympathy for the Superman, free on the fabulous internets.

A bibliography of my published books and stories.

Here's a simple card-counting FAQ to get you up to speed on the basics. Here's the true story of the notorious DD' blackjack team, told for the first time on the fabulous internets. No other team went from a starting investor's bankroll of zero to winning millions of dollars.

orange-crowned warbler hangs out

2003-02-19 - 4:35 p.m.

The Orange-Crowned Warbler is still around. It has been feeding heavily on the suet all day. I will hate to see him go.

The squirrels can defeat the baffle and get the suet, but it's a lot of work, so they aren't taking as much as usual. If they can keep it down to a dull roar, fine. If not, back to the drawing board.

The near hummingbird feeder has about 10 or more yellow jackets on it at the moment. I put in a 1 to 4 sugar/water solution because I thought it might freeze, but I will obviously have to go back to a more dilute solution now that it's 70 degrees.

I can't figure out how to get my diaryland email. I sent a test message from hotmail but didn't receive it. How is it I can figure out how to add an assortment of links and FAQs but can't figure out how to get email? I suppose I will just have to remain snottily incommunicado until I have time to figure it out.
