orange cats should be illegal
2014-06-26 - 8:42 a.m.
A low-key day. Doctor's visit, lots of power blinkages because of the late afternoon weather. Adult Red-headed Woodpeckers hanging around low, not just on my feeder but actually sitting out on a neighbor's mailbox. Don't usually see them sitting low like that unless it's my feeder -- which is, of course, still higher than the mailboxes. I also spotted that immortal orange cat hanging around. Sigh. Maybe that's why I haven't really seen any juvenile RHWO down low. The person of dubious provenance sent over to fix the fence next door put up fenceboards along the back that appear to be higher than the neighborhood allows. Also, he didn't mend the gate, so the fence still doesn't enclose anything. Sort of reminds me of this classic picture: Alleged worker left, didn't return Wednesday, didn't return Thursday -- but I noticed the manager's car over there and wondered how he reacted. Of course no contractor ever finished a job in this state, but this isn't a small "forget" as it means that the "fence" still isn't a fence. I hate to laugh but since this rental manager or the corporate ownership or both are essentially evil, OK. I'm gonna go ahead and laugh.
