posting these vacation photo essays is not as easy as it looks
2003-02-23 - 5:17 p.m.
I wrestled the job of posting
my Trinidad vacation story, with
photographs, and finally achieved success after pestering BF
only about ninety zillion times. I can see where it is going
to be quite a project to get our photos sorted and
posted. I started designing the lay-out by wrapping
the story around the photos all creatively but quickly
ran out of steam.
I took that particular trip only a couple of weeks before
my last trip to Vegas as a professional blackjack player.
I had never done the bird-feeding thing before, because
I needed to travel so much, but suddenly I was inspired
to put up a hummingbird feeder in July 2001. Not much happened for a couple of weeks.
I put up a second feeder. Boom! Suddenly, the hummingbirds
realized that I was serious and starting showing up for
the party. And so it began...
Today's garden notes:
Ruby-Throated Hummingbird? Check.
Orange-Crowned Warbler? Check.
Carolina Chickadees bringing nest material to the box?
Check.
Squirrels sliding off baffles and doing multiple backflips?
Check
Beautiful spring day? Absolutely!

Someone we know IRL1, who2 we didn't realize even knew
BF's last name, has now thoughtfully emailed D. to let
him know that BF was
reviewed on slashdot. I know durn good and well
that this person never took BF seriously as a human being
because he is not a card counter and/or
mathematician but now that he has been slashdotted,
he is suddenly a real person.
This is just too cool for words.
1IRL=In Real Life but you as a cool person knew that, natch.
2I am not a supporter of the totally bogus word
"whom."
