stupid lack of news day 2014-12-15 - 8:11 p.m. Why does anybody care what Bill Cosby's wife has to say? Doesn't she have an economic interest in buying Bill's story? It isn't like anyone believes SHE was there. later I didn't even bother to comment yesterday on the teen boy who told a credulous reporter that he'd earned $72 million trading stocks starting with his lunch money. It seemed obvious to me that if you could do that, millions of us who have already tried it would have done it. Or at least a handful of people would have done it...The transaction costs on day trading (including the punitive tax burden on short term "wins") are too insurmountable. Probably the reporter knew it was a lie but hoped to get two stories (and the resulting double clicks out of it) -- first for the original lie, then for the retraction. There needs to be some way to hold reporters accountable who deliberately spread bullshit.
