page 26 of the online mineral museum: the beryl family, some emerald and aquamarine crystals for your viewing pleasure

Ah, the Beryl family. A neat little example of this classic Mineral group. The large specimen
is Green Emerald on a white and gray matrix, from North Carolina. The small dark green
crystal is a natural Emerald from Colombia. The larger, lighter green -- you might
even call it greenish-yellow -- crystal is a low-grade Aquamarine from, I believe, Argentina.
Caution: These stones aren't gem-grade. A flawless Emerald of the size of the Colombian
crystal would be worth millions, for example. These are Rockhound Grade, great examples
of the natural shape of the crystal, but a little iffy on the clarity and color.
