frisky peachfronts 2016-06-11 - 10:06 a.m. Whew. I'm doing so much writing and editing lately that I couldn't keep up with a written diary. But I wanted to drop by for a quickie note to mention that I have an update on my older but bolder peachfront conure project. You can read all about it right here. The executive summary is that the two oldest birds I bred myself are now 26 years old-- and one of them was still so frisky that she courted her even older companion, laid a couple of eggs, and sat on them. Oops. I'm no longer trying to breed this successful species. They're going to be fine. I just want them to kick back and enjoy life. But I thought it was interesting that at such an advanced age for this small conure they'd still be interested... Since I can't do a diary right now, I try to post a photo every day on my Instagram page as a sort of visual diary.
