inca dove and archilochus
2012-11-10 - 8:26 a.m.
The trio of Inca Doves are still here. Maybe they will be here all winter. My feeder of leftover parrot seed is the obvious attraction, since they come and go underneath. A huge flowering of Turk's Cap and yellow Salvia in the hummingbird garden. Even though the crimson climbers are gone, the hummingbirds eschew the feeder and use the flowers. The one I saw yesterday was a female Ruby-throat/Black-chin type. As it was November 10, I made no attempt to guess which but I didn't notice any tail pumping.
