Read my new book, The 10 Best Things You Can Do For Your Bird at Amazon or at many other fine distributors like Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Kobo, and more.

By public demand, and after a delay of an embarrassing number of years, I've finally put my notorious essay, Ender and Hitler: Sympathy for the Superman, free on the fabulous internets.

A bibliography of my published books and stories.

Here's a simple card-counting FAQ to get you up to speed on the basics. Here's the true story of the notorious DD' blackjack team, told for the first time on the fabulous internets. No other team went from a starting investor's bankroll of zero to winning millions of dollars.

A Sadean take on Asimov's classic Three Laws of Robotics can be found in Roger Williams' NOW REVIEWED ON SLASHDOT!!! The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect. sleepy sunday if you're a macaw or an amazon

Rain, rain, nothing but rain. We needed new "unchewable" perches in the peachfront conure flights. Of course they still have plenty of mulberry and pecan branches that they can chew like toothpicks. But sometimes I come out there, and they have nothing left to sit on. It took them a couple of hours to admit that they liked the new perches. I was so proud of Ronnie. She tested it first.

As slow as the weed clearance project works, it sometimes seems that they grow back as fast as I clear them. But now I'm beginning to think I may be actually making a little progress.

The sago palm is definitely coming back with new green leaves opening from the center. But now we have like 12 square feet of old dead winter-killed leaves to chop away. And those guys are tough!

A couple of guys on Twitter have posted RIPs for the Deltasonic founder who was found so badly hurt last week, so I have to assume that they removed the life support. Terrible tragedy. I hope they find out what happened. One assumes it was hit and run but it sounds like they don't really know right now.

Awful dreams the last two nights.

Cool fact I just read on Twitter: Sarge, that blue and gold macaw from Audubon Zoo who used to rule the children's village back in the day but now hangs out more in the Mayan area, has turned 36 years old! He must have been a bitty babe the first time I met him.
