a cruise to mayan mexico

pyramid at chichen itza
It was a beautiful day because yesterday I woke up and went outside to putter around, and I made
the marvelous discovery that the junk car had finally, finally been removed from the street
across from my house.
It has been a bit nippy lately, and DH and I have enjoyed a blazing fire of old cedar
fence boards on Friday and Saturday night. We'll have another later tonight.
For your viewing pleasure I submit these photographs taken by DH on one
of our complimentary cruises on the Enchanted Capri back in 2000 or so.
They let you climb that pyramid, but then you've got to get back down. Considering
the steep, narrow steps, most of us decided that the best way down was to walk
down on our butts:
That's me in the tasteful shirt and blazing red hair.
The Enchanted Capri is the little one, I'm afraid. The industry has gone toward the giant, impersonal
behemoths, and I read a few days ago that this cruise boat has now been broken up for scrap. Commodore
Cruise had been bankrupt for quite some time though. In fact, they went bankrupt at the most inopportune
time, the week before we were invited to take a free New Year's cruise to Jamaica and Grand Cayman. Sigh.
That's Tulum and, yeah, the water really is that blue.
