bavaria bird list late february 2005

The bird list isn't impressive, but I backed into a few lifers.
Perhaps the most dramatic sighting was the beautiful pair of
Bullfinches on the walk toward Neuschwanstein, the Sleeping
Beauty Castle. The feeders along the walk to Linderhof
attracted the interest of four species of tits, mostly
Great Tits and Coal Tits, but I got a bold Marsh Tit and
a Blue Tit there as well. The Coal Tits had an
amusing habit of raising their derisory crests.

The Nuthatches put on a great show as they did their thing
on the bark, but the Great Spotted Woodpecker did not
hang around, and I'll put him on the list as a "better
view desired."
