making room on the bird porch 2012-10-03 - 9:38 a.m. Still more moving the bird porch around. Not sure how I will ultimately end up housing Nyota. For now, since she is somewhat cage-bound, I have her in a portable cage that's 12" wide by 18" deep by 24 inches tall. In a bigger cage, I think she would resist stepping up and out. With this size, she's getting pretty good about stepping up and down. She still prefers riding my elbow to my shoulder, but she will be able (I think) to go to anyone. She'll go to DH's arm on request, if not his shoulder. A bigger problem is that I can't take her out around Cookie, because she will lay claim to his cage and I'm also somewhat afraid that she might eventually fly at him. She's an odd combination of bold and timid. But I'll say this for her: She has never bitten. And she loves to have me around her.
