Read my new book, The 10 Best Things You Can Do For Your Bird at Amazon or at many other fine distributors like Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Kobo, and more.

By public demand, and after a delay of an embarrassing number of years, I've finally put my notorious essay, Ender and Hitler: Sympathy for the Superman, free on the fabulous internets.

A bibliography of my published books and stories.

Here's a simple card-counting FAQ to get you up to speed on the basics. Here's the true story of the notorious DD' blackjack team, told for the first time on the fabulous internets. No other team went from a starting investor's bankroll of zero to winning millions of dollars.

A Sadean take on Asimov's classic Three Laws of Robotics can be found in Roger Williams' NOW REVIEWED ON SLASHDOT!!! The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect. This and that:

  • Went to Mardi Paws on Sunday but the light was too harsh, I couldn't see the screen to get feedback on my pictures, and I don't like how they turned out. Lots of contenders for "Smallest Dog."
  • Got this quarter's free underpants from Victoria's Secret and free video rental from the video store. It was Vera Drake, which was pretty by the numbers.
  • Carolina Wrens, Brown Thrashers, Mockingbirds all paired up. The Cardinals were never not paired up.
  • No winter hummingbirds for the first time since I've started this diary. I blame the storm and the horrible condition of the yard. I hardly know where to begin to put it back together.
  • DH made an offer on a property in more northerly climes, and the owner promptly yanked it off the market. People sometimes.
  • While on the topic of people sometimes, I do appreciate freeuse/freecycle coming by to haul off my re-usable junk. But must it be at 10 P.M? Can't say anything though since it's their gas and I might want 'em to pick up something another time.
  • Seems like a grouchy little list when I read it over, but I don't actually feel grouchy, and the weather is glorious. Jessamines still in bloom everywhere.
