rubber plant with roots running free
2003-03-26 - 9:47 p.m.
I re-potted some big plants in larger pots, including my rubber tree, my
ficus, and my flowering gardenia. It was the first time we'd gotten
rain in awhile, and the birds were enjoying it. No hummingbirds, but
a pair of Mourning Doves were doing the dirty on a telephone wire and
the chickadees were sticking close to the nest. A number of female
red-wings dropped by, along with a first year male. The White-Throated
Sparrow sang a little, and the Mockingbird sang a lot.
BF, D., and I went to Vincent's for dinner. I wore the Maggie London fitted dress and the "like crockwork" knee-high boots. We all had chicken -- I had
the Parmesan-crusted hammered flat chicken breast (OMG!), BF had the
stuffed chicken, D. had the garlic chicken. Old-fashioned food but
out of this world. I was the designated driver, and poor D. got
silly pretty fast. He was fast asleep in his sleeping bag by nine.

9/11 is the equivalent of attacking China to avenge Pearl Harbor."
