Here's a simple card-counting FAQ to get you up to speed on the basics. Here's the true story of the notorious DD' blackjack team, told for the first time on the fabulous internets. No other team went from a starting investor's bankroll of zero to winning millions of dollars.

my first draft of the spain 2014 bird of prey migration collage

2014-04-14 - 8:48 a.m.

The amazing push of male Indigo Buntings continued apace all day Sunday...As I sat by the window and watched the show, I got a few things done like this collage from my recent trip.

spain photo collage

The bird images in the collage are created and copyrighted by Don Bryant. He has very large, high resolution photos available that haven't been clipped to fit into a collage, so if anyone wants more information about using them, let me know and I'll put you in touch. I'm sure some of them will be appearing in print sooner or later...

Oh, I should also say since he works so hard on his framing: Don's photos don't clip the wings. My collage edits the wings. This is because 1) it's a collage, and 2) if someone wants to use the photos, they need to get permission from him so they can get the good copies.

Our fearless leader and finder of migrating birds of prey is Sergio Seipke, the next generation of Raptours as well as the author of the upcoming Raptors of South America.

I have very basic camera equipment but I did supply the images of the scenery and background, as well as kinda slapping together the collage. I might do a better one later, but I wanted to get something up sooner rather than later...

Oh, and the photo of the lady filming Don & Sergio and some other people at the lookout? Evidently they're going to appear on some French travel channel. I'm too shy to be on TV so I slipped out of the frame to take the photo.
