... sorry for the quality of the typing but no keyboard & no greater/lesser than symbols so i can't write in proper html...

this was a magical morning. alone on the path through the bog, i had a closeup encounter w. what had to be a bonded pair of kalij pheasants. i also had my best view yet of yellow-billed blue magpie. ...

we set up a vulture restaurant w. buffalo scraps - cow is holy. remember? - and the second vulture to spin around to check it out was a cinereous. soon 2 cinereous were spinning around along w a number of curious himalayan vultures. they were cautious though, afraid to jump right down among the large-billed crows. while we waited, we saw a bonelli's eagle w. a full crop being mobbed by 3 crows. i can guess the story behind that one. ...

we also attracted attention from white rumps & red heads. alas in the interest of keeping the peace we had to hike down early. so we never got to see the birds feast.... i'm not saying somebody has a problem but somebody couldn't be away from their seagram's. ... anyway to keep the peace we stayed on some foofoo pokhara resort. we visited the no doubt world famous dump - that's a joke - even the locals weren't sure wĥere it was & i suspect the driver of following his nose -- but we did find a very nice roost of egyptian vultures there with a pink sunset behind them. ... after the whingers retired to their suite with a bottle of gin, while we sat in the open air bar with a bottle of red & a pair of spotted owlets. i ran back to my room, grabbed my binos, & was back in time for a closeup look at the one who claimed the perch - lit up by the flashlight apps of our cell phones....

The Vultures are circling...
