christmas lights 2012-12-04 - 8:09 p.m. Nyota has commandeered the ficus tree in the window, where she plays in the morning while keeping an eye on the outdoor birdies. Therefore I had to place the Christmas tree somewhat in the background. This weekend, we realized that the lights on the tree were invisible from outdoors, and that most of our neighborhood looked like a dark, grim tunnel because so few of the other neighbors have put up lights. Really, only the neighbors across the street have done anything, and their light display might be best described as "random." So DH has bought some new lights and placed them in the front windows to give us a touch of holiday spirit. Just in time...it is truly a dark, wet, gloomy night. A good couple of days for hauling in extra money -- our rebate for the Michelin tires came in, an early Christmas check, a final payment for the blog pages I've been writing.
