catbird on a cedar fence
2008-04-22 - 11:35 a.m.
In case anyone was wondering, say, what
about those Carolina Wrens, haven't seen them on
her list lately, well, I peeked out the bedroom window
this morning, and they were playing just beneath it. I also saw a
Gray Catbird perched on the back fence, and this year's unusually
un-aggressive mockingbird pair didn't trouble themselves to try to
take his head off.
The only "regular" who seems to be MIA is Brown Thrasher.
I thought about doing
another
packing list for this trip, but I don't think
it's different enough from the last one. A brown/black/gold color scheme
instead of pastels. Canned sardines instead of ramen noodles. The
flax oil capsules that I forgot last time. But, really, mostly the
same idea. later
A little birdie told me most indignantly that they were not "playing," they may be small, but they're fully grown-up and expect to be regarded as such. So there.
