me versus the green heron 2012-07-01 - 2:09 p.m. So I brought my camera yesterday, and the fledgling Green Herons flew around in circles. So I left it back home today, and they came and perched and did everything but stare back in the other end of my binoculars. What's up with that, fledgling Green Herons? Way to heckle the tourist. But ask me if I care. I already have Green Heron fledgling photos that are better and cooler in every way than you, so there! The other day, some dude asked me if some swallows were Violet-Green Swallows. What the--? If I'd been left alone, I would have said Northern Rough-wing and strolled on without a thought. But the old power of suggestion, and the creating of doubt, and I'm wondering, what the--? How can they be Violet-Greens? Do Violet-Greens even occur here?
