I want to talk about a detail of the dead tree
near the road where we found a
handsome pair of Peregrine Falcons --
the one with the male who had no
cheek patch and the female who had a
fine, distinct cheek patch. The big
guns got some fine photographs of the
Peregrines, but here I want to
mention something else-- the bold Monk
Parakeet who chased a female Peregrine
Falcon out of her tree -- and lived
to tell the
