Here's a simple card-counting FAQ to get you up to speed on the basics. Here's the true story of the notorious DD' blackjack team, told for the first time on the fabulous internets. No other team went from a starting investor's bankroll of zero to winning millions of dollars.

red-shouldered moment

2012-03-06 - 10:23 a.m.

We have a pair of Red-Shouldered Hawks who court in the cooler months and who often nest, I believe, somewhere between the grocery store and the Region's Bank. I often see one of them perched somewhere near Hwy 22. The other day, a very rainy day, when I was stuck in a line of cars for the turning lane for the grocery store, heading west, I looked to my left, and what did I see but a damp adult drop into the ditch, catch something, and bring it back to a nearby tree. It was a small item, so I have no idea what it was, but they must find enough in that ditch to raise a family. On Monday, when I got caught at a red light, I wondered, as I always wonder, where the bird was. Suddenly, with a hiss and a spit and claws out, a Mockingbird shot in front of me. There, on a fairly low branch by the side of the road, a poor pitiful Red-Shouldered Hawk was getting hammered by at least three Mockingbirds. One of them actually hit him on the back. Ouch.
