2007-03-22 - 11:21 a.m. Click back a page to check out my Atlantic City photos. I returned from my trip to find that Timmy is back to his evil feather-destroying ways. I might as well face it. The bird goes in cycles of picking and not-picking no matter what I do. But I have started his treatment again. Dale and Sheldon are playing house, with Sheldon inside the nestbox trying to lay eggs while Dale thoughtfully watches the entrance. I'm not sure how that's going to work out, guys, but have fun. Courtney and Ronnie did a little bit of nestbox exploring before I left on the trip, but Ronnie isn't broody. Not yet, anyway. Click here to return to part 2 of the Peachfront Conure Files. Spring is here, and I've moved a bunch of plants outside. The jessamine are starting to fade, at least in the hummingbird garden, although there are still a good many along the back fence. Buds on the fig tree. The orange lilies are just starting to peek out of the ground. Weeds to fight back everywhere. My poor lips are double their natural size. I'm afraid that I blame the nifty little Burt's Bees lipgloss that I packed for my trip because it was just the right size for that stupid TSA-approved baggie. The only other possible offender is the Benefit She-Lac that I've been using to seal lipstick on my mouth, but I don't think it's the She-Lac because it hasn't caused any reaction when I've used it with other lipsticks. Besides, it's awfully common for people to have bee or pollen allergies. Anyway, I'll quit using both and then see how I react if I return to the She-Lac with another product. I hate to give up on the Burt's Bees because it's cheap, available, and packable, but if I try it again after I'm OK and my lips swell a second time, that's it for them and I'll have to free-cycle the un-opened product.
