my suite in tokyo -- now with pictures! 2012-06-11 - 8:53 a.m. Update 2017: I no longer have these photos, sorry. Heh. I can't believe that I forgot to write about the infamous tiny hotel rooms of Tokyo. Step inside my upgraded suite. Up top, we see part of the bedroom, but not the desk, the chest of drawers, or the TV. Both the bedroom and the living room had great views overlooking Tokyo, since we were on the 18th floor. There was a full kitchen. Since I also got free breakfast coupons with my upgrade, I never got the opportunity to fix any meals in my room. But it would be fantastic for a longer stay, since there was a Tesco Express grocery store on the corner. The hotel also gave out some free tea of various types, but they did not include dish soap. That's OK. I can read TripAdvisor, so I had a tiny container of dish soap in my carry-on liquids baggie, so I could "keep it clean" during my short stay. Loyal readers have already seen the laundry room, complete with magic washing machine where you don't have to take out the clothes and put them in the dryer, because it magically converts itself into a dryer and finishes them by itself. I didn't bring the right type of camera to take night scenes, but once I saw the situation, I was sorry I didn't.
