merry christmas 2003-12-25 - 10:05 a.m. Last year I had a Christmas hummingbird. Where is my Christmas hummingbird? I have a handsome female Downy Woodpecker visiting the lame pine tree though. Last night we had filet mignon and Perrier-Jouet champagne for Christmas Eve. We watched The Salton Sea which was excellent for the first half hour or so as long as our hero kept wandering about drugged having strange purposeless encounters but which took a turn for the mundane when they decided they had to wrap everything up in a bow and make him all sympathetic and all. Home-made brownies with Brazil nuts and walnuts for dessert. A health food, you know. All that vitamin E and selenium in Brazil nuts means you can never get cancer or heart disease, tee hee. Cookie is still emotionally involved with his Christmas toy from last year. This morning he was feeding it pre-chewed food in the most loving manner. So I got him a smaller toy made of wood and rope that he can completely destroy. He went to it immediately and chewed off a chunk, then returned to dancing attendance on his old toy. He wouldn't want the old toy to get jealous, of course. I got BF a grill/smoker, and he got me a Palm Pilot for entering my bird lists in the field.
