i guess those blue jays aren't total confabulators after all

I'm getting guilt-tripped by the Northern Cardinal adults who just switched up sitting and staring on the pole where the bird seed feeder WAS. I had to take it down because there's an adult Cooper's Hawk stalking the feeder. This is not just the Blue Jays saying this. I have now seen it for myself less than an hour ago when I was out feeding the parrots. The hawk came at eye level and narrowly missed one of my doves. In fact, it got a feather which floated sadly away. Cookie was very brave. Once the hawk had vanished into the neighbor's bushes, he squawked right up about it...
