My Christmas cactus looks absolutely splendiferous for its starring role in the 12 days of Christmas. Here is proof that it can bloom on Christmas instead of Halloween, Thanksgiving, or random days in April. The house across the street appears to have been saved. It has now passed its inspection and sprouted a green sticker, just in the nick of time. I've now gone back and added photographs to my Portugal entries, but not to worry. No one has to go back and read all my rambles to get to the photos. I'm going to make up a couple of photo pages really soon, maybe later today even. I also want to make up a page of mosaic photos but I haven't picked out the ones I want yet. The people of Portugal have such an eye for beauty in every little corner of life. you may skip the discouraged little rant I wonder why the arts are not valued more in the U.S. When all of our landscapes are scarred by drilling rigs and windmills, and all of our migratory animals extinct for lack of places to migrate to, who would come here? Our cities are already ugly. It's our landscapes and our wildlife that are special. I suppose the "soft dollar policy" is in place to make sure that at least people will always come for cheap shopping. Hey! We can be another Tijuana. Thank you, Mr. Snow and Mr. Bush! okay, rant over The title of this entry comes from the famous parable that I have heard comes from Africa, or it comes from South Carolina, or it comes from somewhere in the coastal south. Wherever it comes from, I think it's a true story. And it's quite frustrating when you watch it happen to one of your friends.
