the cookie photo shoot: don't hate me because i'm beautiful 2010-09-19 - 1:23 p.m. © 2010 by elaine radford Can you believe this splendid specimen of the Yellow-Crowned Amazon species? Can you believe that he's over forty and used to have gray feathers on that wing? I think it was on that wing. He has blossomed so beautifully that now I can't quite figure out which side used to be the "bad" side. I've inspected the bird upside-down and from every angle, and I can't find a scrap of a trace of a gray feather on that bird. I can't credit the diet, if anything, I cook the special foods with special vitamins less often. And I have a riot on my hands from the conures if I keep them on pellets for too many days in a row. So I have to credit the new flight cage. It's the only change I can think of. I think he was rubbing or scratching in just that one spot, and now he's too busy exploring his big new flight cage. Oh, and of course, traveling between his big new flight cage and his older, still preferred cage from which he can supervise the kitchen and the television. I'm still sick. I'm now completely exhausted from the photo shoot with Cookie, followed up by an attempt to photograph all the stones that I got in the mail yesterday. Whew.
