2013-12-08 - 10:51 a.m. I have convinced myself there are fewer brown stalks than I thought on the Turk's Cap, meaning I have put off removing them. Heh. I have a report that the Iceland Gull is still there, so maybe we'll head out this afternoon so DH can see it. I hate driving around in the ice and snow but I'm thinking there must be a way to get up north to see some of these many and many Snowy Owls floating around this year. I have already got $75 rebate from the Amex offers heavily reported by the frequent flyer bloggers. Maybe $100, as I haven't checked DH's rebates yet. Now I have $150 in Amazon gift cards. I'm sure it will go fast on bird food and bird books. Although I bought a song from iTunes and then realized I could have just as well bought it from Amazon. Oh well! I doubt I'll miss that $1.29 or whatever it was. DH grumbled that I shouldn't buy these songs because the artist gets so little. OK, but surely they get cred from their record label or something more than the nothing they get from a free download? It isn't like I can just walk up to the guy and stuff a dollar in his tip jar. I mean, these are professional musicians, not dudes standing out on the street with a guitar. I did somehow pose as a person in the UK to get a free download for UK residents but I already bought all that person's stuff that he actually had for sale to Americans. So I would hope that's within the bounds of acceptable ethical behavior. I don't need the four bucks. I would be happy to send it to him if I knew how. Is it OK to say that if your music video is 30 minutes long and manages to quote the most obvious lines both from "Leaves of Grass" and "Howl" then you're a pretentious bore? Why are the girls all so preachy? I'm not looking for preachy in a music video, especially not a 30 minute soft porn video where you get it on with the albino dude. later Yeah, so DH did have the other $25 credit on his account. However, it got too foggy to be suitable weather to get out there and chase around gulls. Win some, lose some.
