One of life's dark mysteries, I guess. later D. called and said that a young Bald Eagle was feasting on a bird, probably a Crow, right in his front yard -- much to the disgust of the huge Alfred Hitchcock-like flock of Crows that swooped down on the Eagle in protest. Some people have all the luck. later D. emailed to correct me -- the Eagle was probably eating a pigeon but definitely not a Crow. It was eating something with light feathers. DH and I ate at Isabella's. Nothing fancy. I had the shrimp with red pepper sauce. He had the pizza.
