i met brad pitt once, want my autograph?
2008-05-19 - 10:12 a.m.
Because I apparently look like a million dollars in my Tommy Bahama for Women red leather jacket, and because it's a given that all rich people from New Orleans know all other rich people from New Orleans, I'm asked, "Oh, you're from New Orleans, huh? So what is Brad Pitt like?" "Mmmm, well, they're very generous."
"He seems like a very giving person." "Mmmm, they're both very nice, you know, they came after the storm, I'm there because I'm from there, but they actually moved there on purpose to bring income to the city."
"He must be so amazing."
Playing blackjack on the same table with the guy hardly qualifies me to have an insight, but my personal guess on the subject is that 1) sure, he's a terrific guy, and 2) the influence of his wife probably has something to do with that. In any case, you won't hear me bad-mouth somebody who has done so much. But it just tickles my funnybone that the lady in the picture gets none of the credit.
