the chickadees versus the mockingbirds
2004-04-06 - 8:07 p.m.
The Carolina Chickadees are much sneakier this year about going to and from the blue nestbox. I think it's because they're trying to avoid attracting too much attention from the Mockingbirds. When the Mockers get riled, one will sit on the suet feeder and the other will sit on the blue nestbox. I can just imagine how peaceful it is to be sitting on your eggs with a big old bad-tempered Mockingbird stomping around on top of your head.
