Read my new book, The 10 Best Things You Can Do For Your Bird at Amazon or at many other fine distributors like Barnes & Noble, iTunes, Kobo, and more.

By public demand, and after a delay of an embarrassing number of years, I've finally put my notorious essay, Ender and Hitler: Sympathy for the Superman, free on the fabulous internets.

A bibliography of my published books and stories.

Here's a simple card-counting FAQ to get you up to speed on the basics. Here's the true story of the notorious DD' blackjack team, told for the first time on the fabulous internets. No other team went from a starting investor's bankroll of zero to winning millions of dollars.

A Sadean take on Asimov's classic Three Laws of Robotics can be found in Roger Williams' NOW REVIEWED ON SLASHDOT!!! The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect. Adult readers only please -- explicit sex and violence. For updates on the "Dead Tree Project" and other topics, you may visit the official fan site, Passages in the Void..

creations and swaps

2011-03-18 - 9:52 a.m.

Have done a lot of trimming and shaping but I finished two fine pieces -- an agatized fossil coral that proved to hold red and pink agate on the inside, and a large Graveyard Point "Regency Rose" cabochon with a pink feather-like plume in the center of the piece.

Completed my first rock swap of the year -- 21 pounds of Green Tourmaline Needles in Quartz matrix, in exchange for a collection of cabs and (a few) faceted stones. Nice stuff -- Green Jade with Magnetite inclusions, two dinosaur bone cabs, 3 bright red Mediterranean coral cabs, 1 Hawaiian Gold coral cab (a nice gold color with good chatoyancy), a large square Piranha Agate, a good-sized faceted Schorl Tourmaline, and the list goes on. Will have to break out the camera again soon.

Ah, and another bit of good news: In April, eBay will get rid of the listing fees. It never made sense to me that the seller takes all the risk of finding or creating the product, photographing and describing the product, and creating the write-up to sell the product...and eBay wants to get paid even if the item didn't sell. I mean, where's the fairness there? The big corporation wants to get paid even if the seller is losing money? Craziness. I'm glad that they're waking up to the real world.
