2011-12-06 - 3:30 p.m. I've tumbled back into the online swap meet of life. The big important swap of the week was, of course, the rough stones/cutting saw in exchange for the Diamond Hill Smoky Quartz/Amethyst cluster pictured above. The other guy got home, thought about it, and ordered another box of labradorite, so I got a little cash bonus as well. Swapped a couple of oversized Crazy Lace agates to the slabette polishing guy. We both shipped today. I can't wait to see my package. Swapped my leftover Paris Metro tickets with a guy who's going to Paris in January. Got my Delta "Have One On Us" coupon yesterday. A FreeUse lady called me this morning and said that no one had come to take the artificial Christmas tree she'd put on offer in Covington. My poor old ficus tree is getting pretty old, with a pretty big bald spot, so I said, "Yes." I've moved the ficus tree out of the window, with a plan to trim it back and maybe braid some of the thinning branches together to make it thicker for next year. Meanwhile, I have the new tree all decked out in Christmas lights. I think the Christmas angel tree-topper broke some time ago, but I found a clip-on Christmas cardinal. Hey, it'll work. You know how you can tell that birds are angels? Because they have wings! Actually, sometimes that's how you can tell that they're little demons. But I digress... The smaller ficus tree and, of course, the giant Arkansas Quartz are decked out in the remaining Christmas lights. That Quartz crystal made it known that it insisted on plenty of flash. I started to deck it out only in tasteful white lights, but I got that buzz in my head to let me know that my Crystal wanted color. Working on the second brined turkey experiment this afternoon. Maybe I can get some photo editing done while it's roasting.
