i laugh at your so-called drought of 2011
2011-08-23 - 8:39 a.m.
Seems to be some post-breeding dispersal or migration of
the Ruby-Throat Hummingbirds through the yard. They drink deeply,
then perch nearby to keep an eye on the feeders.
Working up my third table, which created a scary boom!
out of a clear blue sky and then no electricity for half an hour or
so. I strongly suspect a mis-step by the tree removal guys down the way. Later, I ventured out again to try another coat of gloss.
Result: a loud, windy thunderstorm that threatened to knock
out the power again. So I'm making rather slow progress on
table number three.
I need to post some rock swaps, but I have to keep moving the painting projects onto the bird porch out of the rain, and then I can't get to the scale.
I'll renew my offer to any Texas or Arkansas residents who would like me to pay a visit and break their droughts, but those folks are stubborn and they're prepared to tough it out.
