money, money, money on a rainy day 2011-12-17 - 9:22 a.m. What a gloomy day! Rain, rain, rain, rain. A bunch of financial stuff, lunch at the Orangery where I had the lobster crepes, onward to another bank where I closed out an old account and got the stuff out of my old deposit box. By that time, my flashy gold plastic raincoat all imprinted with whatever had completely imploded under the arms. Trashed the raincoat, sorted and trashed a bunch of old financial records, many for accounts we no longer held. No rare gems, no pirate gold. Yes, there was really nothing of value left in the box at all, except for my old books and magazines, which I plan to either Kindle-ize or just put online on my own page.... A bit depressing in a way to be selling off my junk silver and my stock, closing accounts here and there, but we saved a long time for a rainy day, so I don't really know why I'm sad. Actually, I should be glad that I cleared out so much junk silver this summer at $40 an ounce, since it has now dipped below $30. And my old JNJ stock paid for my upcoming Eagle tour of South Africa.
